Paul Finley

Lead Pastor

Pastor Paul Finley hails from southern Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Music degree at St. Olaf College and his Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary. He served as Associate Pastor at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo from 2004-2009 and in Feb 2009 began his second call as the Lead Pastor of Lutheran Church of Hope. He loves to teach and preach the Word as well as work with the church to develop ways to more effectively live out the Great Commission, to go and make disciples of all nations.
He and his wife, Karissa, enjoy spending time with their golden retriever, Rowan, and two cats, Gatsby and Gandalf; wandering the streets of Disneyland; and traveling, especially to countries where English is not the primary language. Paul also enjoys movies, reading, singing, playing piano and guitar, acting in community theater, Apple computers, and everything Star Wars-related.

Church Secretary

Susan has been a Mission Partner since 1971 when she came here with her family as a child. She began working in the church office in 2002. Susan is married to Johnny and has two daughters. Samantha is in Jr. High & loves to play soccer and Danielle is a Marine Science Technician 1st Class with the United States Coast Guard.
What are your favorite activities?
Susan loves spending time with her family and 4 cats...yes, 4.
What is your favorite thing about being part of WLC of Hope?
The community of people and their love for Jesus and one another. Hope is a very warm and welcoming place to be.

Interim Youth Director

Dave has been attending WLC of Hope since 2003 when he moved to California from Minnesota. Over the years, Dave has been involved in many different areas of the church, in participant and leadership roles. Dave has also been involved with many different youth activities, and is currently meeting with Hope's Jr. High and High School students on Sunday nights.
You can also find Dave working on media and sound issues for Sunday morning services, and helping in other behind the scenes capacities. Dave graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2008 with a degree in History and is currently pursuing his high school teaching credential, also at Long Beach. He loves playing and watching sports, especially hockey and baseball.
